On 13 June, the California Fire Department of Forestry and Fire protection reported that the River Fire in Mariposa County, California has burned 9,500 acres of land, destroyed 5 buildings, and is currently 15% contained. Parts of Madera County are under mandatory evacuation orders and according to media report 400 residents were evacuated from their homes. Another fire in Northern California has burned 36,400 hectares of land making it the largest wildfire to occur in 2021.
