Colombia (Update)
On 14 August 2026, Colombia's National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD, per its acronym in Spanish) provided updated information on the situation in the country. According to the report, 287 deaths, 3,975 injuries, and 378 missing persons were reported, with impacts recorded across 15 departments and 437 municipalities. A total of 56,448 families (135,179 people) have been affected. The damage assessment documented 79,108 damaged homes, 13,077 destroyed homes, and 121 collapsed buildings. Severe weather

Chile
On 14 August 2026, Chile's National Service for Disaster Prevention and Response (SENAPRED, per its acronym in Spanish) provided information on a weather system affecting the regions of Arica y Parinacota, Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Atacama, and Coquimbo. According to the report, three families were affected in Iquique, Tarapacá, with three homes undergoing damage assessment. In Atacama, 191 people were sheltered across Copiapó (65), Tierra Amarilla (33), Alto del Carmen (77), and Diego de Almagro (16), while an additional 481 people were isolated in Alto del Carmen due to activated ravines (quebradas) affecting rural routes. In Coquimbo, 144 people were isolated in Vicuña (69) and La Higuera (75). In Antofagasta, 45,000 customers lost access to potable water following an electrical failure at a desalination plant.
