Bolivia
On 13 December 2023, the Ministry of Defense (MINDEF) and the National Civil Defense of Bolivia (VIDECI per its acronym in Spanish) reported heavy rains in the municipality of Cotagaita, in Potosí Department, causing the overflow of the Cotagaita river affecting a total of 25 communities, 1,500 families. A total of 2 deaths and one missing person have been reported. Additionally, 14 Provinces in the La Paz Department remain under high risk due to possible flooding, landslides, and overflow of rivers caused by heavy rains. Peru
On 13 December 2023, the National Institute of Civil Defense (INDECI per its acronym in Spanish) informed that on 11 December 2023, heavy rains registered in the Santa Rosa de Lambras, San Antonio de Antaparco District, Huancavelica Department that damaged a total of 4 homes affecting 12 persons. In the Tayacaja Province, Huancavelica Department, rains damaged 2 homes affecting 6 persons. Additionally, in the Sandia District, Puno Department, heavy rains caused the Chancharamani River to overflow, causing a landslide damaging houses, roads, bridges, bridges,an educational institution and crops.
