Uruguay (Update)

On 19 March 2024, the Uruguay National Emergency System published updated information on the heavy rains affecting the country. A total of 440 people remain displaced (decrease of 1,121 since the 18 March report) throughout the country, of which, 296 were evacuated and 191 self-evacuated. The geographic distribution of the displaced people is across the departments of Canelones (n=51), Colonia (n=12), Florida (n=279), Río Negro (n= 5), San José (n=110), and Soriano (n=30). A total of 19,000 people experienced a power outage, and 543 remain without power. The report is available from: Sistema Nacional de Emergencias
