On 20 October 2026, media is reporting 430 emergencies associated with heavy rainfall across 22 provinces since 29 August. A total of 23,666 people were impacted, including 21,826 affected and 1,840 severely affected, with three deaths reported. In addition, approximately 5,650 houses were affected by flooding and landslides. Seven rivers and streams remained overflowing in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Guayas, and El Oro provinces.
