On 23 August 2022, the National Weather Service of Fort Worth provided information of the heavy rains occurred on 22 August 2022 and caused flooding in Dallas County in the state of Texas. According to the Dallas County Judge, Clay Jenkins, presiding officer of the Dallas County commission, the towns of Balch Springs and Mesquite, were affected by the rains and needed shelters for people who needed to leave their homes. The Judge declared a state of emergency for Dallas County. One fatal case has been reported. According to the City Hall of Dallas, and the information provided by the Dallas Water Utilities, the overflows occurred in four major drainage basins. To date, none of the overflows of diluted wastewater have affected the City’s water supply. Venezuela (Update)

On 23 August 2022, a media report provided an update about the overflow of the Socopó River occurred on 9 August 2022 due to the heavy rains in the state of Barinas, Venezuela. According to the report, at least 2,200 people and 600 families were affected in the urban and rural areas of the municipality of Sucre, Barinas, Venezuela. The Governor Sergio Garrido has recommended to maintain the state of alert in the state because another 24 hours of rain are expected. The report is available at: El Arugueño
