On 24 April 2023, the Brazil Agency of Communication (EBC per its acronym in Portuguese), published information regarding the heavy rains in the state of Bahia, Brazil. The Ministry of Integration and Regional Development authorized the construction of housing in the south of Bahia, where more than 30 thousand people have been displaced in 2022. The recent heavy rains have caused flooding and landslides in the cities of Ilhéus and Santa Cruz de Cabrália. According to a media report, in the municipality of Santa Cruz de Cabrália, at least 6,000 people were displaced. Ecuador 

On 23 April 2023, the Ecuador Risk Communication Management Department published updated information on the rainy season in the country. From 1 January to 23 April 2023, 181 cantons of the 221 were affected. The most affected provinces are Guayas, Los Ríos, Manabí, Santa Elena, El Oro, Cotopaxi, Santo Domingo de Los Tsáchilas, Esmeraldas, Imbabura, and Chimborazo. There were 66,727 affected people, 30 deaths, and 37 injured people.
