On 25 August 2026, media reports indicated that unusual snowfall affected six of Bolivia's nine departments, with Potosí and Oruro among the most affected. According to the reports, more than 20,000 families were impacted, while an additional 102,728 families were affected. School classes were suspended in Potosí and Oruro, and operations at airports and bus terminals in La Paz were temporarily suspended. Low temperatures were also reported in Cochabamba, Chuquisaca, and Tarija. In addition, rainfall and flooding in La Paz, Potosí, and Cochabamba affected more than 2,000 families.
