On 26 April 2023, the Civil Protection of the state of Bahia (SUDEC per its acronym in Portuguese), Brazil, provided updated information regarding the heavy rains in the south of the state. According to the report, 8,146 people were displaced and 9,348 people were affected. Of the 25 municipalities affected, 5 have declared an emergency due to the heavy rains (Santa Cruz Cabrália, Ilhéus, Belmonte, Porto Seguro, and Itapebi). The report is available from: SUDEC
