Colombia (Update
On 28 August 2026, the Colombia National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD, per its acronym in Spanish) reported that 16 departments and 496 municipalities have been affected by the earthquake, impacting 196,614 families and 406,963 people. A total of 331 deaths, 4,449 injuries, and 152 missing persons have been reported, while 364 people have been rescued. Regarding structural damage, 187,852 houses have been damaged and 33,395 destroyed, while 6,383 buildings have been damaged and 655 have collapsed. Additionally, 388 health facilities, 3,925 educational facilities, 4,366 community facilities, 472 roads, five airports, 125 aqueducts, 77 vehicular bridges, and nine pedestrian bridges have been affected. On 27 August 2026, media reported updated information on the wildfire in the state of Nevada. According to the information, the fire burned approximately 15,085 acres, destroyed at least 32 homes and one commercial structure, and resulted in several injuries among civilians and firefighters. Damage assessments remain ongoing. At its peak, the fire prompted evacuation orders or warnings for tens of thousands of residents in the Reno metropolitan area and forced school closures due to smoke. The Governor of Nevada declared a state of emergency for Washoe County. As of 28 August, some evacuation orders had been lifted as containment efforts progressed, while authorities continued to conduct damage assessments and investigate the cause of the fire.
