Dominica (Update)
On 28 April 2026, the Government of Dominica provided information on a trough system that impacted the island on Sunday, 26 April 2026. According to official reports, major landslides have severely restricted movement in affected areas, prompting the deployment of heavy equipment to clear roads and restore access to Atkinson, Antrizzle, and the Kalinago Territory. Temporary measures are also being implemented at the Calixte Bridge to reconnect the communities of Dix Pas, Tranto, Good Hope, San Sauveur, and Petite Soufrière. Authorities reported that several schools remain closed due to safety concerns, while food, tarpaulins, and psychosocial support are being distributed to displaced residents. Temporary shelter is currently available for those in Atkinson, as the government initiates longer-term housing solutions for households that have sustained severe structural damage or total loss. Information available from: OPM Pressroom
