On 3 January 2023, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), provided information regarding flooding in Northern California caused by an atmospheric river. According to the report, 3 deaths were reported, and mandatory evacuations were issued in Sacramento, Calaveras, and San Mateo, affecting at least 900 people. At the time of the report, 2 shelters had been opened housing 12 people and there were 10,000 people without power. The report is available at: FEMA
