Mexico (Update)
On 2 November 2026, media reported that the National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC, per its acronym in Spanish) informed that rainfall over the weekend in four northern states left two people dead, 450 houses affected and 45 people rescued from risk areas, alongside damage to public services, fallen trees and stranded vehicles. Operations in Coahuila, Sonora, Baja California and Baja California Sur included the preventive evacuation of 27 families and the opening of two temporary shelters housing 95 people, of whom 35 remain under the care of local authorities. Sonora concentrates the largest number of affected houses, with 397 flooded in Guaymas, Cajeme and Navojoa; in Guaymas, two people died. In Baja California Sur, the overflow of streams in Los Cabos and La Paz forced the temporary closure of fords and the rescue of 45 people, one of whom was injured after being dragged by the current, and 18 vehicles were removed from floodwaters. In Baja California, at least 50 houses were affected in Ensenada, where the overflow of the San Carlos stream flooded the El Salitral area and forced the evacuation of 162 people, with 58 displaced receiving assistance in a temporary shelter.
