Ecuador (update)

On 1 March 2024, the Ecuador Risk Management Secretariat published an update on the heavy rains affecting the country. In total, there were 117,491 people affected (9,823 increase since the 28 February report), 979 people directly impacted, and 25,626 homes affected (1,181 increase). Wildfires

On 1 March 2024, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) published information on wildfires in the states of Oklahoma and Texas. Since 27 February 2024, there have been multiple wildfires burning across the Southern Plains due to dry, windy conditions. In the state of Texas, the Government has declared a State of Emergency and partially activated the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). In Texas there are 5,300 mandatory evacuations in effect, and one shelter was opened housing two occupants. In the state of Oklahoma, the EOC was also partially activated, and eight injuries were reported. Power outages were reported across the affected areas. The report is available from: FEMA
