On 8 May 2024, the Government of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, published updated information on the heavy rains affecting 425 municipalities of the state.
Uruguay
On 7 May 2024, the Uruguay National Emergency System published information on the heavy rains affecting the five departments of the country. According to the report, 763 were displaced throughout the country; they are geographically distributed across the departments of Treinta y Tres (n=436), Paysandú (n=184), Cerro Lago (n=70), Salto (n=54), and Tacuarembó (n=19).
