What is the EPHF Network (RedFESP)?

The RedFESP is an initiative led by the Member States of the Pan American Health Organization. Its purpose is to strengthen public health stewardship and governance in the Region of the Americas through the implementation of the Essential Public Health Functions (EPHF).

The RedFESP connects key institutions and actors in the region to:

  • Exchange experiences and lessons learned
  • Promote innovative and effective practices
  • Strengthen national and local capacities in health leadership and governance.

It is a collaborative space where solutions are generated, strategies are shared, and knowledge is built to transform health systems.

Vision

To be the regional meeting point for promoting more resilient, equitable, and effective health systems in the Americas through effective governance and implementation of the Essential Public Health Functions (EPHF).
 

Network Organization

  • General Assembly: All members of the Network.
  • Steering Committee: Representatives elected by the Assembly.
  • Technical Secretariat: Carried out by PAHO.
  • Technical Working Groups: According to priorities defined by members.

Participation

Who can participate?

  • Public and private health institutions at the national and subnational levels.
  • Organizations that promote cooperation and strengthen health governance in the region.

How to join:

  • Submit request to the Technical Secretariat (PAHO).
  • Assessment for NGOs according to institutional standards.
  • Approval by the General Assembly.
  • Membership confirmation by the Technical Secretariat.
