
GEORGETOWN, GUYANA 23 JANUARY 2025- The new Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) Representative to Guyana, Dr. Kim Eva Dickson, on Wednesday 22 January 2025 presented her credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd.
Dr Dickson succeeds Dr. Luis Codina, who recently retired, and Mr. Daniel Albrecht, the Interim PAHO/WHO Representative to Guyana.
A national of Ghana and the UK, Dr. Dickson is a Public Health Physician with over 25 years of international experience. She was appointed as the new PAHO/WHO Representative in Guyana effective 12 January 2025.
Minister Todd assures Dr. Dickson that he has an open-door policy for talks on mutual areas of interests to enhance the collaboration between Guyana and PAHO/WHO.
The Foreign Minister also expressed appreciation of the international public health agency for the collaborative efforts, recognizing the work done by the Ministry of Health, and the technical support provided to Guyana.
The PAHO/WHO Guyana Country Office established in October 1967 is responsible for providing technical cooperation, through the facilitation of activities aimed at improving health conditions in Guyana.
