Call for applications for a position on PAHO's Audit Committee

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is seeking applications for a position on its Audit Committee.

PAHO works to improve the health and well-being of people in the Americas. The Organization is committed to providing the highest level of technical support and leadership to its Member States as they pursue their goal of Health for All. PAHO enjoys international recognition as part of the United Nations system, serving as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization and is also the specialized agency in health of the Organization of American States.

The purpose of the Audit Committee is to provide the Director of PAHO and PAHO Member States, through its Executive Committee, with advice on the operation of the Organization’s financial controls and reporting structures, risk management process, and other audit-related controls. Members of the Audit Committee shall serve in their personal capacity, reflect the highest level of integrity and be fully independent from PAHO. Each member may serve no more than two full terms of three years each. They are expected to attend at least two meetings each year in Washington, D.C.

Service on the Committee is without remuneration except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to Committee Members‘ duties. Applicants must have recent and relevant senior-level financial, audit, risk management and/or other oversight-related experience. Members of the Audit Committee are fully independent from any government or PAHO body, structure or entity. Candidates from a range of backgrounds, including those currently working in the private sector, are encouraged to apply.
