PURPOSE:
The purpose of the consultancy is to strengthen primary health care systems and support the development of human resources for health in Guyana, improving health systems and services at all levels. Specifically, the consultant will provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health in HRH analysis, policy, planning and development; and support the development and implementation of integrated primary care models and quality improvement approaches.
QUALIFICATION:
Education:
Essential: The Consultant must possess a Medical Doctor Degree (MD) and a postgraduate degree in public health, preferably a master’s degree in public health (MPH), health management or in any other related area.
Desirable: Additional training in community health or health promotion is desired.
EXPERIENCE:
Essential: At least 8 years of progressively responsible work experience implementing health programs at national and subnational levels focusing on health systems strengthening, primary health care, human resources for health, health policy and planning, and service delivery.
Desirable: experience working in the Guyana health care systems at both health facility and community levels.
