Vacancy Notice- International Consultant to Support One Health

An opportunity exists for an International Consultant to support the implementation of a Voluntary External Evaluation using the State Party Annual Report (VEE-SPAR) and capacity building activities for One Health efforts in Guyana, as part of the country's emergency response to COVID-19 and facilitate timely delivery of relevant reports and outputs at the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) Guyana Country Office. The successful candidate will collaborate with PAHO in supporting the Ministry of Health in its One Health efforts particularly in terms of facilitating the timely completion of deliverables in relation to the VEE-SPAR, capacity building activities, and consolidating lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Technical expertise
 Knowledge about the One Health approach and IHR.
 Experience in developing a repository of key documents / establishing institutional memory platforms.
 Previous work in leading/facilitating the writing of assessment / evaluation reports.
 Experience in strategic planning and capacity building
 Strong professional and academic writing skills Strong research, problem-solving and organizational skills

 Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office applications (MS-Office Word, Excel, and Power Point)
 Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is desirable.
 Experience in multi-stakeholder and intersectoral dialogue, engagement, and management; and in working with PAHO/WHO or other United Nations agencies would be an asset.

Education/Experience
A Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Policy, International Relations, or any related field, with a minimum of 5 years work-related experience in One Health and / or International Health Regulations. Experience working in inter-programmatic collaborations, with Ministry of Health, Non-Governmental Organizations, or United Nations Agencies would be an asset.

The incumbent should be based in Guyana under the direct supervision of the PAHO/WHO Guyana country office Advisor for Health Surveillance, Disease Prevention and Control.   The total duration of the assignment is five (5) months.
