World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day 2026

Theme: Involving communities.
A hands-on approach to neglected diseases.

On World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day (January 30), PAHO is once again promoting the slogan "Involving communities," building this year on the strength of the WHO's global message: "Unite. Act. Eliminate." With this aligned vision, we call upon governments, health workers, and civil society organizations to work on comprehensive actions, recognizing that the only way to eliminate these infections is by joining forces and focusing strategies on the people affected.

To achieve this, it is essential to build capacity and ensure that communities have an active voice in developing solutions. By strengthening the role of people and respecting their ways of life, we not only fulfill the mandate to act, but also guarantee the sustainability necessary for the control and definitive elimination of these diseases.
