Childhood cancer is a leading cause of death for children and adolescents in the Americas region. This country profile provide a synthesis of the burden of childhood cancer and health system capacity in the South America Subregion.

Profiles for the countries, as well as for the region and other sub-regions are also available. These profiles establish a baseline and support monitoring trends toward the achievement of the key indicators of the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer.  The data presented in the Profiles are derived from several sources.
