Explanatory notes about the Childhood Cancer Country Profiles published in 2021.

Childhood cancer is a leading cause of death for children and adolescents in the Americas region.

PAHO has produced a series of country and subregional profiles that provide a synthesis of the burden of childhood cancer and health system capacity in each country, each subregion and in Latin America and the Caribbean as a region.

These profiles establish a baseline and support monitoring trends toward the achievement of the key indicators of the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer.  The data presented in the Profiles are derived from several sources.

All the profiles are available at https://www.paho.org/en/childhood-cancer-profiles-2021
