Guidelines for the response to tuberculosis, HIV, STIs, and viral hepatitis in persons deprived of liberty in Latin America and the Caribbean

The objective of this publication is to guide, facilitate, and strengthen actions aimed at health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care for tuberculosis, HIV, STIs, and viral hepatitis among people in detention centers, with standards similar to those available to the outside population. It is applicable to other forms of confinement, including persons deprived of liberty for humanitarian reasons or for their own protection, and those confined to psychiatric institutions.
