The population of the Americas is aging rapidly and, by 2050, one in four people will be aged 60 or older. In this episode of Let’s Talk Health, Patricia Morsch, PAHO Regional Advisor on Healthy Aging, explains that healthy aging is a lifelong process. More than simply avoiding disease, it is about maintaining the ability to do what we value, preserving our autonomy, and continuing to actively participate in our families and communities. The conversation explores common myths about aging, the importance of physical activity, nutrition, mental health, and social connections, as well as the role of public policies and inclusive environments in ensuring a better quality of life as we grow older. It is an invitation to view aging not as a problem, but as an opportunity to live longer, healthier, and more meaningful lives.
