Regional Situation: In general, North America and parts of the Caribbean continue to experience a decline in influenza activity, mainly associated with influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 and influenza B. RSV activity remains on a downward trend in North America; however, an increase has been observed in the Caribbean. SARS-CoV-2 activity remains low in North America, while its circulation has increased in the Caribbean. In Central America, the circulation of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 continues to rise. RSV and SARS-CoV-2 activity remain low compared to the previous epidemiological week (EW).The Andean subregion shows stable circulation of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza A(H3N2), while RSV detection is showing an upward trend. Brazil/Southern Cone reports an increase in the detection of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09. In the case of SARS-CoV-2, its circulation continues to decrease. RSV remains stable compared to the previous EW. In the region, there is a high detection rate of other respiratory viruses, with rhinovirus being particularly prominent in North America, the Andean region, and Brazil/Southern Cone. Additionally, parainfluenza and adenovirus have been detected in circulation in the Caribbean. |
