Cover Regional Update, Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses. Epidemiological Week 4 (31 January 2025)

Regional Situation: Influenza-like Illness (ILI) and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) activity has shown a marked increase in North America, driven by the circulation of RSV and influenza. In contrast, most other subregions have experienced a general downward trend. Regarding influenza, epidemic activity has been reported in North America and the Caribbean, although a slight decline has been observed in recent epidemiological weeks (EWs). RSV activity, after peaking in North America, has started to decrease, while in the Caribbean, it continues to decline. Finally, SARS-CoV-2 activity remains on a downward trend across most subregions, except in Brazil and the Southern Cone, where, following a slight increase, it has stabilized.
