As countries explore new forms of collaboration to strengthen HTA processes, the implementation of the European Union Health Technology Assessment Regulation (EU HTAR) offers a valuable opportunity to examine how regional cooperation can be translated into practice and what lessons may be relevant for other regions.

This webinar will explore the early experience of implementing the EU HTAR, providing participants with an overview of its objectives, scope, and key components, including Joint Clinical Assessments. European experts directly involved in the design and implementation of the Regulation will share practical insights into governance arrangements, methodological approaches, stakeholder engagement, timelines, resource requirements, and the challenges of aligning national and regional assessment processes.

Building on these perspectives, a panel of leading HTA representatives from Latin America will discuss the relevance of the European experience for the regional context. The conversation will focus on identifying transferable lessons, recognizing elements that may be difficult to adapt, and exploring realistic opportunities for regional collaboration in areas such as capacity building, methodological convergence, and joint assessment activities.

Date: Friday, October 30
