The digital transformation of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) systems is a key component for improving the quality, availability, and use of health data, and for strengthening their integration with Information Systems for Health (IS4H) in the Region of the Americas.
In this session, Javier Vargas, international consultant in health information systems, will present a practical framework of best practices to guide CRVS digital transformation processes, addressing their legal, institutional, technological, and change management dimensions in an integrated manner.
The components of a modern digital CRVS system will be explained, and examples and recommendations will be shared to support the planning and implementation of sustainable, people-centered projects.
This event is part of the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics thematic area, which aims to promote the exchange of best practices and strengthen technical and institutional capacities to improve the quality of morbidity and mortality data in the Region.
General objective
Strengthen technical and institutional capacities to use ICD-11 as the central semantic standard in CRVS and Information Systems for Health (IS4H), improving data quality and integration and contributing to informed decision-making.
Specific objective of the session: Present the components of a modern digital CRVS system and share examples and recommendations to plan and implement sustainable, people-centered digital transformation projects.
