On Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM (Brasilia, UTC-3), BIREME/PAHO/WHO will hold the session “Memory and equity in health: launches of the Digital Memorial of the Pandemic and the VHL of Indigenous Peoples”, as part of the program “BIREME 2026 of launches and new developments”.
The session will highlight strategic initiatives developed within the framework of technical cooperation with institutional partners, focusing on digital solutions, preservation of health memory, and strengthening of thematic networks.
Two recent launches will be presented: the portal of the Digital Memorial of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Virtual Health Library – VHL of Indigenous Peoples.
The meeting will include the participation of BIREME professionals, specialists from partner institutions, and external guests, promoting an integrated view between methodological, technological, and information and knowledge management development.

Context
The program “BIREME 2026: Launches and new developments” is part of BIREME’s institutional communication and technical cooperation strategy for 2026, with monthly sessions held on the last Thursday of each month.
The sessions present launches, new developments, and results of initiatives conducted by BIREME, reinforcing its role as a regional reference center in health information and knowledge management and expanding the visibility of solutions applied to the priorities of health systems in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Materials and recording
After the session, the recording will be made available in BIREME’s playlist on PAHO’s YouTube and indexed in the VHL Repository, contributing to the recording of institutional memory and the continuous dissemination of knowledge.
