The Minamata Convention on Mercury requires that a national action plan for artisan and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) include a public health strategy on the mercury exposure among artisanal and small-scale gold miners and their communities. To support public health authorities, WHO has prepared a guidance on developing an evidence-based public health strategy for ASGM.

Webinar presentations will include insights into the step-by-step guide and associated documents, as well as experiences from Latin American countries.

The agenda and list of speakers will be distributed to registered participants.

Co-organized by the Pan American Health Organization with the Minamata Convention Secretariat Hosted by Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute.
