Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (update)

On 13 April 2021, the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines reported an explosive event at 10:48 PM on 13 April causing pyroclastic flows heading down on the eastern side of the La Soufrière Volcano. The occurrence of explosions and accompanying ashfall, of similar or larger magnitude, are likely to continue over the next few days. According to the daily live update for 14 April from Prime Minister Gonsalves the water supply systems, apart from the four water systems in the Red Zone, are at 55%-60% capacity with all partially functioning with the exception of the Jennings, Perseverance, and Hermitage Systems. The shelters in Barrouallie and Keartons are still in need of running water (both depending on the Hermitage water system), water will continue to be trucked-in from Pembroke and Layou to these areas while a vessel with water was able to dock in Barrouallie. Additionally, 20,000 and 60,000 bottles of water from Grenada and Venezuela correspondingly, have been received in Kingstown and 66,000 bottles of drinking water have been shipped from Martinique, expected to arrive in Kingstown, while Dominica will be shipping 2 collapsible bladders filled with water later today. Finally, approximately 446 families are currently hosting over two thousand persons and registration with NEMO of persons in private sheltering continues. Colombia (update)

On 13 April the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM as per is acronym in Spanish) continued reporting flooding and landslides caused by heavy rain across Cundinamarca and Meta Departments. Additionally, several municipalities in Cundinamarca have reported damage to houses and public infrastructure due to the flooding and landslides. At least six people have been isolated in El Tablón de Medina Locality, after the overflow of two rivers. The reports are available at: IDEAM Boletín 103 and ECHO FLASH.
