On 30 July 2020, the United States National Hurricane Center (NOAA) reported that Hurricane Isaias is bringing tropical storm conditions and continuous heavy rains across Central Bahamas. A Hurricane Warning is in effect from Boca Raton to the Volusia/Brevard County Line Florida and for Northwestern, Southeastern, and Central Bahamas. Hurricane Isaias is expected to produce 4 to 8 inches of rain for northern Haiti, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, and Turks and Caicos. The rainfall amounts will lead to life-threatening flash flooding, mudslides, and river flooding. In addition, the Dominican Republic Emergency Operations Center indicated that 14 provinces are under a red alert and 11 under yellow alert due to Hurricane Isaias. Media reported, in the town of Hato Mayor, Hato Mayor Province, Dominican Republic, a total of 5,210 persons were evacuated and 1,00 homes were affected.  An overflow of rivers and landslides isolated 131 communities. In El Seibo City, east of Hato Mayor, 219,000 people were left without electricity due to the inclement weather.
