Peru (Update)

On 12 April 2023, the Peru Civil Protection (INDECI per its acronym in Spanish), published updated information on the heavy rains affecting the departments of Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Huancavelica, Lima, Piura, and San Martin 

·       In the department of Ayacucho, there were 13,448 people affected (an increase of 2,305 since the 29 March report). There were 2,244 homes affected (723 increase) and 451 were destroyed (134 increase). 

·       In the department of Cajamarca, there were 8,904 people affected (an increase of 8,353 since the 29 March report). There were 2,855 homes affected (2,703 increase) and 572 destroyed (551 increase). 

·       In the department of Huancavelica, there were 16,446 people affected (an increase of 9,181 since the 11 April report). There were 4,768 homes affected (2,609 increase) and 297 destroyed (224 increase); 3 health care facilities were affected and 1 was destroyed.

·       In the department of Lima, there were 17,663 people affected (an increase of 11,513 since the 5 April report). There were 6,070 homes affected (3,801 increase) and 824 destroyed (549 increase). 

·       In the department of Piura, there were 93,637 people affected (an increase of 10,218 since the 11 April report). There were 30,250 homes affected (2,968 increase) and 2,764 destroyed (334 increase). Additionally, 121 health care facilities were affected and 13 were destroyed. 

·       In the department of San Martín, there were 1,071 people affected. There were 266 homes affected and 53 destroyed. In addition, 2 health care facilities were affected.
