Colombia  

On 16 August, the Department of Antioquia, Colombia, reported 7 municipalities (Apartadó, Dabeiba, Chigorodó, Carepa, Uramita, Zaragoza y El Bagre) experienced emergencies due to the heavy rains as of 14 August. To date, there are 52 deaths associated with the rainy season. In Chigorodó municipality there was flooding in the villages of Guapa, El Dos, Guapa León, and Unión Parcelas. In Apartadó municipality, the Vijagual River overflowed, affecting some homes in the El Bosque and La Esmeralda sectors. In Carepa municipality, the overflow of the León and Carepa rivers affected sectors of the Bocas de Chigorodó, Las Flores, and Eucalipto districts. In addition, emergencies due to the rainfall were also reported in the subregion of Bajo Cauca Antioquia. An overflow of the Nechí and Tigüi rivers affected 450 families in El Bagre and the Nechí river also caused flooding in Zaragoza, affecting 192 families. Venezuela

On 17 August, the governor of the state of Zulia, Venezuela, Manuel Rosales, reported on the emergency caused by sea storms in the state and the response the government is taking in providing humanitarian assistance in the form of  health care, food and social care programs. According to a media report, more than 300 families were affected and more than 20 people were injured. In addition, the storms caused the destruction of 1 school in Zulia and the municipality of La Cañada de Urdaneta was the most affected.
