Dominican Republic
On 20 April 2026, the Emergency Operations Center (COE, per its acronym in Spanish) of the Dominican Republic provided further information on river overflows caused by heavy rainfall. According to the report, one province—Santiago Rodríguez—remains under yellow alert due to the risk of flash flooding, river overflows, and landslides. A total of 30 aqueducts are out of service, affecting approximately 277,362 users. Partial isolation of communities has been reported in Monte Plata and Duarte as a result of river overflows. In Monseñor Nouel, three individuals were swept away by the Yuna River; two survived, and one remains missing. The report is available from: COE.

Brazil
On 20 April 2026, the Brazilian Agency of Communication provided information on the declaration of a state of emergency in the city of Belém, capital of Pará, following one of the heaviest rainfall events recorded in the past 10 years. According to the report, homes were flooded and transportation was only possible by boat. The Civil Defense, with support from the fire department, was mobilized to coordinate an integrated response to assist the affected population. The Federal Public Prosecutor's Office urgently requested the Belém City Hall and the Government of Pará to open schools and gyms to shelter displaced individuals, due to limited capacity in existing shelters. The report is available from: Agencia Brasil.
