The Assistant Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Francisco Becerra, yesterday received a delegation from Argentina's health sector, led by the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Health, Enrique Rodríguez Chiantore.

Washington D.C., 13 April 2016 (PAHO/WHO) — The Assistant Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Francisco Becerra, yesterday received a delegation from Argentina's health sector, led by the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Health, Enrique Rodríguez Chiantore.

During the visit, views were exchanged on the leadership role of PAHO in the Region and the work taking place on health systems strengthening; human resources for health; prevention and control of potentially pandemic diseases; procurement of medicines, medical equipment and vaccines; and noncommunicable diseases.

Also participating in the meeting were Alberto Kleiman, Director of External Relations, Partnerships and Resource Mobilization, and representatives from PAHO technical units and departments.

The Argentina delegation continues its visit this week holding meetings with different institutions and organizations based in Washington, D.C.
