15 October 2025, Nassau, The Bahamas - The Bahamas Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS) Stakeholders Meeting was held on 8 October 2025, as part of the development process for the first CCS for The Bahamas. The CCS will provide the medium-term vision to guide PAHO/WHO’s work with the country. It is a strategic tool being developed in collaboration with the country, defining shared priorities, supporting the national health sector plan, policies and priorities, and is aligned with regional and global mandates.
This CCS aims to ensure that PAHO/WHO’s technical cooperation efforts are targeted, relevant, and impactful to The Bahamas, as well as being aligned to the country’s priorities. It takes into account the unique context, opportunities, and challenges the country faces, including its geographic complexity, its vulnerability to climate change, and its ongoing efforts to strengthen health systems and achieve universal health coverage.
This consultation brought together a range of stakeholders, from across government, civil society, the private sector, and development partners, reflecting the understanding that health is everyone’s business. The purpose of the National Consultation was to collect inputs and comments on the CCS Strategic Agenda, Strategic priorities and strategic deliverables prior to finalization.
