TCI delegation meets with PAHO/WHO Representative

16 October 2023 - The Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) delegation to the 60th Directing Council, 75th Session of the Regional Committee of WHO for the Americas held in Washington DC, USA on 25-29 September 2023, met with Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) regarding the extension of the multicounty agreement for PAHO/WHO technical cooperation to the United Kingdom Overseas Territories (UKOTs) in the Caribbean.  The extension of the strategy would be to the end of 2025, which would provide an adequate timeframe to evaluate the outcomes and impact of the existing strategy and facilitate the development of a new strategy for technical cooperation that aligns with new and evolving national health priorities and challenges faced by UKOTs, as well as aligning with the upcoming PAHO Strategic Plan for 2026-2031.  Honorable Minister Shaun Malcom agreed with the extension and signed a letter confirming this.
