The Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) Unit of the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) Country Office for The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands partnered to host the 22nd annual Vaccination Week in the Americas.

Under the theme: "Engage Now to Protect Your Future #GetVax" a series of activities occurred. These included awareness sessions, radio interviews, Facebook interviews, health fairs, and immunization services to empower and educate community members.

The week of activities occurred April 20 -27,2024. The festivities commenced with a health fair at R.M. Bailey Park and concluded with an Immunization Health Fair at the Mall at Marathon.

Parents, particularly those with children aged 5 and under, were encouraged to ensure that their children were up to date with their immunizations. The EPI unit also visited preschools on the island of New Providence to provide parents and guardians with information and to administer vaccines.

School aged students were welcomed to participate in a poster competition which encouraged other to #GetVax.
