Better Care for NCDs: Learning Pathway

Strategic Line 4 of the Initiative promotes the development of primary healthcare teams for improved NCD care. This strategic line emphasizes the importance of having readily available interprofessional primary health care (PHC) teams and their adequate training for improved care of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Learning Pathway

To support the development of PHC teams in caring for people and communities with NCDs, a Learning Pathway (LP) proposal has been developed.
An LP is an organized journey based on a set of scheduled training activities—such as courses, workshops, seminars, webinars, and communities of practice—consistent with the development of competencies defined for a specific professional field. The LP is aligned with the three objectives of the Initiative to promote the development of appropriate health teams for implementation based on these three groups of competencies: Clinical follow-up, public health program management, and data monitoring.
