Diabetes Disease Burden Profile 2023: Bahamas

The fundamental purpose of this series of national profiles of the burden of disease due to diabetes and chronic kidney disease due to diabetes is to support the countries of the Region of the Americas in monitoring the strategies implemented to address diabetes. This first version of the profiles, which covers the period between 2000 and 2019, shows the trend in mortality, years of life lost due to premature death, years lived with disability, and disability-adjusted life years for both diseases. They have been prepared with the latest available data from the World Health Organization's global health estimates and are intended to become a useful tool for monitoring related strategies.
