Factsheet 2022: TB/HIV co-infection in the Americas

In the Americas in 2020

WHO estimated:

• 291,000 new cases of tuberculosis.
• 29,000 new cases of TB in people with HIV (10%).
• 27,000 TB deaths, of which 29% were in people with HIV.
• 80% of TB/HIV cases were concentrated in 7 countries: Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Haiti, Peru, Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
