Hand Washing and Personal Protective Equipment. Information for Health Care Managers. Technical Document 4. Updated 21 July, 2009.  This document provides technical information on hand washing and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during the Influenza (H1N1) Pandemic, to mitigate the risk of transmission and accumulation of infected cases at national and community levels. It is intended for health care managers1 in all countries in the Region of the Americas, which may or may not have probable or confirmed cases of infection. It will be revised as the situation evolves and additional information becomes available.
