The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) publishes the Immunization Newsletter four times a year in Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese. Its purpose is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information on immunization programs in the Region of the Americas and beyond. The English and Spanish versions have been published since 1979, while those in French and Portuguese have been published since 2001 and 2019, respectively.The May 2025 issue of the Immunization Newsletter includes an article introducing the Regional Immunization Action Plan for the Americas 2030 (RIAP2030), which is the result of joint work with the countries and territories of the Region of the Americas and is aligned with the strategic documents Reinvigorating Immunization as a Public Good for Universal Health and the Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030); an article on Paraguay leading the modernization of surveillance of measles, rubella, and acute flaccid paralysis in the Americas through implementation of VPD-SMART; an infographic on some indicators of the PAHO/WHO/UNICEF Joint Reporting Form for Immunization (JRF), a key tool for providing a broad and comprehensive view of the impact, scope, and gaps of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) in the countries and territories of the Region of the Americas; a summary on PAHO's new Strategic Advisory Group on Vaccine-Preventable Diseases; Territorial coordination and geospatial tools: keys to closing vaccination gaps in Peru and data to provide health teams with accurate and updated information for the design, implementation, and monitoring of key actions in territories; as well as a visual table of case data for vaccine-preventable diseases for the year 2024. |
