PAHO/WHO Country Cooperation Strategy Jamaica: 2025–2030

Cover

Jamaica’s Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS) 2025–2030 outlines a comprehensive, medium-term vision for the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) technical cooperation with the country. Developed through extensive national consultations and close collaboration between the PAHO/WHO and the Government of Jamaica, the Strategy charts a five-year roadmap to strengthen the health system and advance universal health coverage. Focusing on critical areas such as the revitalization of primary health care, the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases, enhanced emergency preparedness, and expansion of the health workforce, the Strategy aligns national priorities with regional and global mandates. It aims to make the health system more integrated, efficient, and responsive to emerging and ongoing health challenges. The Strategy also emphasizes digital health technologies, improved health information and surveillance systems, and cross-sectoral action to address the wider determinants of health. Serving as both a guiding document and a harmonizing tool, the CCS aligns national priorities with regional and global mandates, while integrating PAHO/WHO’s efforts with those of other United Nations organizations and development partners. It also lays the foundation for a more resilient, equitable, and responsive health system, one that enables every person in Jamaica to attain the highest possible standard of health and well-being.
