Large portions of South America have experienced drier-than-usual conditions, with unusually high temperatures and a significant decrease in rainfall. According to data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration / National Centers for Environmental Information (NOAA/NCEI), June 2024 was the warmest June on record. Additionally, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) reported that June 2024 ranked as the 34th driest June at the continental level. *Document available in Spanish. |
