Regional Situation: Influenza and RSV activity in the Americas continues to decline. SARS-CoV-2 activity remains low and stable. In North America, influenza activity remains at interseasonal levels. In the Caribbean, the previously reported increase in circulation has decreased to a positivity rate of 12,1%. Subtype A(H1N1)pdm09 continues to be the predominant strain. RSV activity remains low and stable in North America, while in the Caribbean it reached a positivity rate of 10,8%, increasing in the last epidemiological week (EW). SARS-CoV-2 activity has stabilized in North America and is increasing in the Caribbean, where positivity reached 11,9%. In Central America, influenza activity remains elevated but shows a downward trend, with a positivity rate of 13,5%. RSV activity continues its upward trend, with a positivity rate of 11,1%, while SARS-CoV-2 circulation is slightly increasing. In the Andean subregion, influenza A activity continues its downward trend with a positivity rate of 8,2%. RSV activity remains steady compared to the previous EW, reaching a positivity rate of 11,1%, while SARS-CoV-2 circulation is increasing compared to the last EW. In Brazil and the Southern Cone, influenza activity continues to decline, with a positivity rate of 4,5%. RSV circulation has decreased compared to the previous EW, with a positivity rate of 5,6%, while SARS-CoV-2 activity remains at low levels. In all subregions, except the Andean subregion, a decrease in the circulation of other respiratory viruses (ORVs) is observed, with a positivity rate of 3,9%. |
