Monitoring child and adolescent obesity indicators

 

The monitoring tool for the implementation of the Plan of Action for the Prevention of Obesity in Children and Adolescents allows Member States and the public to examine the progress regarding the implementation of the interventions stated in the plan of action. Indeed, the user is able to see the achievements from multiple angles, such as the regional perspective, by indicator, and by country. In addition, the tool provides access to supporting documents for the achievement status of each indicator.

The information presented in the monitoring tool was updated on 31 December 2020. Midterm results may change due to country validation processes.

Data sources:

The information presented in this tool has been compiled using the following sources: the Global Database on the Implementation of Nutrition Action (GINA) of the World Health Organization (WHO), reports from the World Breastfeeding Trends Initiative (WBTi), the WHO Global Nutrition Policy Review (GNPR), the Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS), the WHO Country Survey of Capacity and Response to Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD CCS), and the database of the Open Streets Network of the Americas (CRA, for its abbreviation in Spanish). In addition, documentation was compiled from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Pan American Health Organization, the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and PAHO focal points.
