The objective of the course is to introduce the different types of studies in environmental epidemiology for their application in the analysis of the environment and public policies to monitor diseases and other population health problems.

The CC also supported the preparation of the Spanish version of AirQ+, a tool to estimate the health impacts of air pollution, and conducted training sessions in the Region.

The CC for Health Risk Assessment and Children's Environmental Health at the División de Estudios Superiores para la Equidad, Facultad de Medicina, Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí in Mexico supported PAHO in developing a PAHO Virtual Course on health risk assessment, e-waste exposure and children's health in digital waste dumps. The training course is a product of the activities agreed with the CC in their 2022 – 2026 work plan. Throughout 2020-2022, a series of 21 monthly follow-up meetings were conducted to develop this training course. Experts in electronic waste management, waste disposal, and risk communication from the CC, PAHO, and WHO actively participated in these meetings.
